The spacious, well-ventilated, girls’ common room of the renowned institution imparting knowledge to both the genders of the society, is situated in the main administrative block. It was recently (completion of work in July 2021) renovated, revamped and refurbished with an aim of upgrading the facilities for the female scholars of the institute.
The light-emitting diode (LED) which is one of today’s most energy-efficient and rapidly-developing lighting technologies, has been made use of to illuminate this magnificent space. It now houses not only the washroom and drinking water facilities but also a changing room which may be used during cultural events and various NCC, NSS extension activities. It has also been furnished with another modern hygienic amenity: a sanitary pad disposal machine, along with the already available sanitary pad vending machine.
The face-lifting of this essential facility of an higher education institute, was a joint venture of college administration, fuelled by the active participation and exemplary vision of the Principal, Dr Pratibha Yadav and the CDC.
Providing a thematic perspective to this niche for the fairer sex of the co- education institution, proved to be the icing of the cake. The black and white pictures of the “Phenomenal female personalities of our Nation” who proved their worth in various walks of life, that adorns the walls of the common room, not only reminds our girls, of the glorious achievement of these ladies but also motivates them to give their best in all their future endeavors.
The notice board in the girls’ common room displays various circulars and notices that are concerned specifically with the female scholars of the institute and also the contact numbers of grievance redressal cell members.
